Very Enjoyable but Very Short December 14, 2007 The Frog (UK) Our pre school children love this game. This navigation is easy, the games just right for pre school, and it has the added foreign language teaching aspect (Spanish). Games include shape and colour matching, number recognition, simple category matching, and verbal instruction following skills. There's lots of positive feedback. As well as spoken encouragement children earn reward 'stickers' they can apply to pictures. On the downside, our children completed the entire game in under 30 mins. Its very short, perhaps 4 or 5 different games. Plus the 'sticker book' where children can create pictures. I'd rate it lower, but the children keep playing it and still enjoy it too.
Too short, even for my 3 year old December 26, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The game is bright and cheerful with some excellent graphics, animations and songs. It also follows the TV show very closely and had my boy laughing a lot. However, we played it together on the easiest setting and completed it in twenty minutes (with very little parent help). I expected the game would continue beyond this but sadly no, having returned the books and picked some new ones that was basically it. I was surprised by the previous review saying the troll game was really good - you have to do the same task five times in a row which raised a, "Not again!" from my boy. Another gripe is that the tip of the arrow pointer must be on the object being selected for the click to take effect. I guess this is good from a computer education point of view but frustrating for a young three year old. Generally not good value for money.
This is great..... January 31, 2005 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've just bought a PC, mainly so that my 3 year-old daughter can start learning how to use one. I bought Dora's Backpack Adventure as the first piece of software for her. Within a few days, she had not only mastered use of the mouse but was thoroughly enjoying some of the games. She particularly enjoys the Troll game where you have to match shapes as well as the library, where she has to find the right books. There's also stickers to collect for your electronic sticker book as well as some of Dora's most popular songs. A big thumbs up from me and my daughter!
Help Dora return her books October 13, 2004 B. A. Provan (UK) 6 out of 13 found this review helpful
Dora and Boots need to return her books to the Library, and they need your help to get there! Along the way, you'll help them solve problems, figure out puzzles and play games with their friends Benny the bull, Isa the iguana, and Tico the squirrel! Watch out for the Grumpy Old Troll and that sneaky fox, Swiper! With Dora, even returning books to the Library becomes an adventure!
