Customer Reviews: Lack of good useful information, but a good read. January 17, 2010 Charles Noades (New York) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I found this a good read, it was very well written and has plenty of information, but lacks the finish. yes we know we have to get a visa, but it just brushes over it without giving any real meat on the bones.
David Hampshires book on America and Mark A Coopers book both on the same subject both have good and bad parts.
David Hampshires book has so much info you can be on overload, Coopers' book goes deep into house buying, mortgages and schooling, if you have kids its a must.
So I would recommend 'Moving to the United States of America and Immigration' by Mark A Cooper and 'Living and Working in America' by David Hampshire, both complement each other.
saying that, you cant get too much information on the subject, so do as I did and bought all three.
More than a slice - this is an American sized portion September 7, 2009 Simon Watkins (Poquoson, Virginia, USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Extremely comprehensive guide to not only living in America, but invaluable to anyone interested in American culture or working over there. The author clearly knows her stuff, with exceptional levels of detail, and well-judged humour. Having just returned from 3 years in the States, I'd highly recommend this to anyone planning to live, work, or even just visit for the first time. Volume is much larger and significantly more comprehensive than I expected - it's a big slice of pie!
