| Customer Reviews: good but very american June 13, 2010 R. Simpson (England) This is the only thing that will get my 2 year old to sit on the potty. She loves the flushing sound and can now just about 'read' the whole story to me. It doesn't mention potties though, in the book Dora goes straight to the toilet. However, well worth a buy if it will get them toilet trained.
Potty training story March 24, 2010 S. Longmead (Notts, UK) I brought this book to read to my 2 year old who was a big Dora fan. The book went down very well and my daughter really enjoyed the story. The only draw-back is the american terms, and I was disspointed that there wasn't actually a picture of Dora sat on the toilet as this would have been good motivation for my little girl.
A nice book to introduce potty training.
Dora's Potty Book April 10, 2009 Tamsin Gay (Cornwall England) My daughter is mad on Dora, so this book was a great help when we started potty training, as she could she her "hero" didn't wear nappies. The book uses the word diapers but when we read it I always change the word to nappies. This book also shows Dora using the toilet with a seat rather than using the potty. I would recommend this book to anyone who's has a Dora fan about to start potty/toilet training.
Good August 18, 2008 Mrs. R. Macgregor (Edinburgh, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found the book useful, my daughter loves Dora. However she is older nearly three and the wording did seem to be directed at an older toddler. I was encouraging my daughter to use the toilet seat rather than the potty as she was older so this book was perfect. Although Dora doesn't sit on the toilet the explanations given were enough at her age.
Too coy to be useful for potty training May 9, 2007 E. Brodie-Gold (Cambridge) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
This book will have some appeal for Dora fans, but it is not very helpful if you want to accustom a toddler to the idea of using a potty. Firstly, the book doesn't show any potties at all (or at least, it doesn't show what British people would understand by the word 'potty'); it just shows a child's toilet seat, as pictured on the cover. Secondly, there are no pictures of Dora (or anyone else) actually sitting on the toilet/potty.
