iphone for dummies July 29, 2010 daniel A good informative book. It covers all topics to do with the iphone. Worth buying this book if you are not up on the usage of your iphone.
Good book for iPhone novices July 23, 2010 Helly This is a very good book that explains everything step by step from basic set-up to more complex features.
Great read, but out-of-date so quickly! July 16, 2010 PoochJD (Hertfordshire, England) I really love the "Dummies" books, and this one is great, especially as I've just got a new iPhone 3GS (32gb) model. It's well written, fun to follow what to do without being patronised, and it's in full-colour!
About the only real complaint, is that - like every other iPhone book - it becomes out-of-date so quickly. As of today, 16th July 2010, the iPhone 4 is now out, and the software is now iTunes 9.2.0.61 and OS 4.0.1.
As such, some of the steps in the book have to be changed, because Apple keep updating iTunes so frequently, and modifying some of the options that you have to do to get certain tasks done, e.g. Contact Lists, etc. Maybe, "iPhones For Dummies" should become a paid-for App, for say £10, that could then simply be updated as-and-when, and then people could simply download it onto their iPhones! How about that for an idea?
I got this for my girlfriend when she got an iPhone... March 27, 2010 GJH Williams 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
... the 'For Dummies' brand seldom disappoint, but if anything the iPhone has proved so easy to use the book has seen little use. So, more of a review for the iPhone, but the book IS comprehensive and well written
Really helpful January 19, 2010 Margaret Polk (London, UK) This book was really helpful for when my iPhone stopped working. All i had to do was try the first instruction in the book, and it fixed it!! It also taught me exactly how to work my iPhone as the iPhone doesn't come with its own manual..
